Bajaj Freedom 125 is one of the most unique motorcycles recently launched in India.
What makes it special is its ability to run on both petrol and CNG.
The company claims this bike can deliver an impressive mileage of up to 100 km per kg on CNG.
At a time when petrol prices are rising, this can help riders save a lot of money.
Earlier, reports suggested that many people were not very interested in this bike, especially because its price is around ₹1 lakh.
However, considering fuel savings, it may now look like a smart purchase.
Dual-Fuel System: Big Advantage for Daily Riders
The biggest highlight of this bike is its dual-fuel technology.
It comes with a 2 kg CNG cylinder placed under the seat, which is not visible from the outside.
Along with this, it also has a 2-litre petrol tank.
This setup is especially useful for people who travel long distances daily and want to reduce fuel costs.
Engine Performance and Savings
The bike is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine.
Riders can easily switch between petrol and CNG modes.
It produces 9.5 PS of power and 9.7 Nm of torque, which is decent for daily commuting.
According to the company, if someone rides around 50 km every day, they can save up to ₹2,356 per month compared to a regular petrol bike.
Comfort and Features
Bajaj has focused well on comfort in this model.
The bike comes with the longest seat in the 125cc segment at 785 mm, making it comfortable for two riders.
It also includes modern features like:
LED headlamp
Digital console
Strong “Robus Treeless Frame” for better safety
The bike has gone through 11 safety tests to ensure proper protection of the CNG cylinder.
Price, Variants and Colours
Bajaj Auto offers this bike in three variants.
The starting price is ₹91,556 for the base Drum variant, while the top Disc LED variant goes up to ₹107,616 (ex-showroom).
It is available in multiple attractive colours like red, white, black, grey, and blue, giving it a modern and stylish look.
Why Are Some Buyers Still Not Interested?
Despite its strong features and high mileage, the bike has not seen very high demand.
One major reason is the limited availability of CNG stations in many parts of India.
This makes it less practical for some buyers.
Additionally, some people are concerned about the extra weight and maintenance due to the CNG cylinder.
