Big news is coming from Maharashtra about the “Mukhyamantri Meri Ladki Behen Yojana.” Reports say that this December, instead of the usual ₹1,500, an amount of ₹3,000 could be directly deposited into the bank accounts of Ladli sisters.

However, even 10 days into December, the November installment of ₹1,500 has not been credited yet. Over 20 million women beneficiaries are now eagerly waiting for both the November and December payments.

Why the November Installment is Delayed

Media reports suggest that the state government may release the November and December installments together. If this happens, each Ladli sister will receive ₹3,000 at once.

The main reason for the delay is the local body elections in Maharashtra. The Model Code of Conduct during elections has temporarily stopped the release of funds.

When Will the Payments Be Released?

It is expected that the Maharashtra government will release the installments after the local body elections end.

Elections in certain areas, postponed by the State Election Commission, are now scheduled for December 20th. After that, the government could deposit ₹3,000 into the beneficiaries’ accounts.

In fact, during last year’s assembly elections in Maharashtra, the government had also sent two months’ installments together before announcing the election schedule.

E-KYC is Mandatory

The BJP-led Mahayuti government has not announced an official date for the double installment yet. However, it has clearly stated that women who do not complete their e-KYC will not receive the money.

Beneficiaries are advised to complete the e-KYC process as soon as possible.

Currently, over 23 million women are registered under this scheme. It provides ₹1,500 per month to women aged 21–65 whose annual family income is less than ₹2.5 lakh.

Launched by the Eknath Shinde-led government, the scheme aims to economically empower women.

Although it helped the Mahayuti win a landslide victory in the last assembly elections, it is a significant expense for the state, with a budget of ₹36,000 crore for 2025–26.
