Door-to-Door Registration for Pregnant Women Begins in Delhi

Good news for women in Delhi! If you are pregnant or have recently become a mother, the government is offering financial assistance through the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY).

To ensure more women benefit from this scheme, a special registration drive is being run until 15th August.

During this campaign, Anganwadi and ASHA workers are going door-to-door to spread awareness and help women register.

The central government has launched a special campaign for PMMVY registration that will continue till 15th August.

Under this drive, Anganwadi and ASHA workers are visiting homes, informing women about the scheme, and helping them register on the spot.

The goal is to ensure that all eligible women can access the scheme’s benefits on time.

What is the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana?

Under this scheme:

A woman who becomes a mother for the first time receives a total of ₹5,000 in two installments:

₹3,000 after pregnancy is registered.

₹2,000 after the birth of the child is registered.

If a woman becomes pregnant a second time and gives birth to a daughter, she receives ₹6,000.
This benefit is provided to encourage the birth of daughters.

Who Can Apply for the Scheme?

To be eligible for PMMVY, a woman must:

Be at least 19 years old.

Have a family income of less than ₹8 lakh per year.

Hold any of the following:

MNREGA card

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits

e-Shram card

BPL card

Disability (Divyang) certificate

The financial aid can be used for hospital visits, medicines, and nutritional needs during and after pregnancy to help keep both mother and child healthy.

Over 4 Crore Women Benefited So Far

As per the Ministry of Women and Child Development, over 4.05 crore women across India have benefited from this scheme as of 31 July 2025.

More than ₹19,028 crore has been transferred directly to the bank or post office accounts of eligible women through Direct Bank Transfer (DBT).

How to Apply

To register for PMMVY, women can visit their nearest Anganwadi centre or contact an ASHA worker. They must carry the required documents for registration.
