Direct Flights to Singapore and Dubai from Raipur Airport Soon

Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, will soon offer direct flights to Singapore and Dubai.

Officials shared this update on Wednesday after a meeting between Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai

and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in New Delhi.

The discussions focused on improving air connectivity and developing regional airports in the state.

New Domestic Flights to Patna and Ranchi

The Union Civil Aviation Minister has agreed to launch international flight services from Raipur soon.

In addition, plans are underway to develop a cargo hub at Raipur Airport. Domestic flight services to Patna and Ranchi are also set to begin soon.

Proposal to Make Raipur an International Airport

Chief Minister Sai proposed upgrading Swami Vivekananda Airport to international status, highlighting the potential for international air services in Chhattisgarh.

He pointed out that the state currently lacks a major cargo facility and suggested turning Raipur Airport into a central cargo hub.

To address difficulties in nighttime landings at Bilaspur Airport, Sai requested the installation of a ‘Radio Navigation System’ (DVOR). The Union Minister instructed officials to expedite the process.

To improve operations, Sai requested the speedy installation of the ‘Radio Navigation System’ DVOR.

The Union Minister instructed officials to prioritize this, especially to address night landing challenges at Bilaspur airport.

Demand for Additional Domestic Flights

The Chief Minister also called for new flights to connect Ambikapur Airport with key cities, including Raipur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya, to further enhance regional connectivity.
