Digital Life Certificate Mandatory for Pensioners (Submit by Nov 30)

Important news for all senior citizens receiving pensions — the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW), Government of India, has announced the fourth nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign for 2025.

The campaign will run from November 1 to November 30, and during this period, all pensioners must submit their Digital Life Certificates on time to avoid any interruption in their pension payments.

What is a Digital Life Certificate?

A Digital Life Certificate is an Aadhaar-based biometric certificate that confirms a pensioner is alive and eligible to continue receiving their pension. To generate it, pensioners need to provide:

  • Aadhaar number

  • Name and mobile number

  • Pension Payment Order (PPO) number

  • Bank account details

If the DLC is not submitted on time, pension payments may be stopped, so completing the process before the deadline is very important.

Senior citizens above 80 years of age can start submitting their certificates early — from October 1.

Government Camps and Special Facilities

To make the process easier, the government will set up special camps in 2,000 districts and sub-division offices across India.

Elderly, sick, or disabled pensioners will also get home or hospital services, ensuring they don’t face any inconvenience in submitting their DLC.

Ways to Submit a Digital Life Certificate

Pensioners can submit their Digital Life Certificate through multiple options:

  • Online via the Life Certificate Portal

  • Using Aadhaar authentication

  • Through the Jeevan Pramaan App

  • Via a postman or doorstep banking services

  • By getting it signed by designated officials

To generate a DLC, pensioners must have an Aadhaar number or Virtual ID (VID). Without it, the certificate cannot be created. Those who haven’t linked their Aadhaar should do so immediately.

Benefits of the Digital Life Certificate System

This initiative aims to replace the old paper-based life certificate system with a digital, transparent process.

It will save pensioners from repeatedly visiting government offices and help reduce fraud or incorrect pension payments.

Final Reminder

All pensioners should submit their Digital Life Certificates between November 1 and November 30, 2025, to ensure their pension continues without delay.

Submitting it on time will help them receive their monthly financial support smoothly and without interruption.
