Delhi launches Fellowship to Involve Youth in Tourism and Heritage

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has launched a one-year Tourism and Heritage Fellowship Programme to involve young people in preserving and promoting the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

The programme will be run by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC).

Every year, 40 young professionals will be selected for the fellowship. Each fellow will receive a monthly stipend of ₹50,000, according to an NDTV report.

The announcement was made during the “DELIGHT for Delhi” Summit, which was organized by the Delhi Tourism Department and Invest India. Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra also attended the event.

Hands-On Experience in Promoting Delhi’s Culture

The selected fellows will take part in various activities, including conducting heritage walks, leading guided tours, creating content, marketing tourism, and helping organize events.

They will also volunteer at popular locations like Dilli Haat and the Garden of Five Senses.

Additionally, they will support the management of film shoots and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events.

This programme aims to use the creativity and energy of Delhi’s youth to boost the city’s tourism while giving them real-world experience.

It will also help build a stronger connection between the government and young cultural ambassadors.

Training and Certification for Future Cultural Leaders

Applications for the fellowship will open soon, and the first group of fellows will begin training this year.

After completing the programme, participants will receive an official certificate.

This initiative is a big step in encouraging young talent to play an active role in preserving Delhi’s heritage and contributing to the city’s cultural growth.
