Delhi Government Removes Time Limit for Old Vehicle NOC

The Delhi government has announced major relief for owners of old vehicles.

Now, vehicle owners whose vehicles have completed their lifespan can apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) even after the one-year deadline has passed.

No More Time Restrictions

Earlier, NOCs could be applied for only within one year of a vehicle reaching its age limit — 15 years for petrol vehicles and 10 years for diesel vehicles.

Now, the government has removed this restriction. This means even if your vehicle crossed the age limit two or more years ago, you can still apply for an NOC.

Relief for Thousands of Vehicle Owners

This decision will benefit owners of both diesel and petrol vehicles in Delhi.

They can now easily get an NOC from their local Regional Transport Office (RTO) and, if they wish, re-register their vehicle in another state.

Officials say that this move will make it easier and more systematic to transfer or dispose of old vehicles, while also ensuring they are handled properly according to environmental rules.
