Defense Civilians to receive 40 Days extra Salary as a Bonus

Recently, the central government has offered another benefit to its employees.

After the salary hike due to the increase in dearness allowance (DA), the government has now announced a bonus of 40 days’ salary for employees of the Ministry of Defense.

The President has approved this bonus scheme, which will benefit thousands of employees.

Which employees are eligible for the bonus?

Under this scheme, all civilian employees of the Indian Army and Army Ordnance Corps (AOC) in Group B (non-gazetted) and Group C categories will be eligible for the bonus.

The bonus will be provided under the “Productivity Linked Bonus” (PLB) scheme.

The PLB benefit will be available only to employees covered under this scheme.

Other employees will not receive this bonus, making it applicable to a limited group of beneficiaries.

How will the bonus and salary be calculated?

This bonus will be calculated using a special method. The maximum bonus limit is set at Rs 7,000.

To calculate, the employee’s average monthly salary will be divided by 30.4 and then multiplied by 30.

For example, if an employee’s monthly salary is Rs 20,000, they will receive approximately Rs 19,737 as a bonus.

The bonus amount will depend on their performance, motivating them to work harder.

Relief for Casual Labour Too

The scheme also includes provisions for casual labor. For them, the bonus will be based on an estimated salary of Rs 1,200 per month.

If a casual worker’s salary is lower than Rs 1,200, the bonus will be calculated based on their actual salary.

Government’s Big Step for Employees

The government’s decision is seen as an important step in recognizing and motivating the hard work of employees.

The bonus provided under the PLB scheme will not only improve employees’ financial stability but also motivate them to perform better. After Diwali, this bonus will bring additional joy to their families.
