DA Hike Update: Central Employees to Get 4% Increase in Dearness Allowance

The 7th Pay Commission DA Hike brings good news for 1 crore central government employees and pensioners.

On Wednesday, October 9, the government is expected to announce an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) after a cabinet meeting scheduled for 10:30 AM.

The Modi government is likely to approve a 3-4% hike in DA, providing relief just before Diwali.

DA Increase to Reach 54%

Currently, central employees receive a 50% DA, and with this hike, it will rise to 53-54%.

The DA increase will be retroactively effective from July 1, and employees can expect to receive 3 months’ arrears in their October salary, along with a Diwali bonus.

Salary Increase for Central Employees

The DA hike will directly benefit employees by increasing their monthly salary. For example, with a 4% DA hike, an employee with a basic salary of ₹18,000 will see their DA increase from ₹9,000 to ₹9,720.

Financial Relief During the Festive Season

This DA hike is expected to provide much-needed financial relief to employees and pensioners during the festive season.

With rising inflation, the DA hike will help ease the burden on government employees, ensuring they benefit from increased earnings.

Furthermore, discussions are ongoing regarding the implementation of the Eighth Pay Commission, but for now, the DA hike is the immediate relief employees have been waiting for.
