Winter has started to show its effect in many parts of India as summer completely fades away. Different states are experiencing different weather patterns.
According to the latest Meteorological Department (IMD) Weather Bulletin issued on 16 November 2025, southern states will see more cold and rainfall, while central
and some northern regions will face cold wave conditions. This forecast is valid from 16 to 22 November.
Delhi-NCR: Temperature to Drop Sharply
According to the IMD, the weather in Delhi-NCR will change starting Monday.
The sky will remain partly cloudy.
Light fog may be seen in the mornings.
Winds at around 12 km/hr are expected in the last 24 hours.
Snowfall in the northern mountains may affect the plains, increasing fog during mornings and evenings.
The IMD report states that the minimum temperature in Delhi and nearby areas may drop to 8°C between 16 and 21 November. Overall, this entire week will be very cold for the region.
Heavy Rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh
Tamil Nadu & Kerala
The IMD forecast warns of torrential rain in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Tamil Nadu: From 18 to 22 November, most areas will receive light to moderate rain, with heavy showers and thunderstorms.
Kerala: Rainfall will continue from 16 to 20 November.
Very heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Tamil Nadu on 16 and 17 November.
Andhra Pradesh & Andaman-Nicobar
An alert has been issued for Coastal Andhra, Yanam, Rayalaseema and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Very heavy rainfall is expected in Andhra regions on 17–18 November.
Andaman & Nicobar Islands will face heavy rain from 18–21 November.
Strong winds at 30–40 km/hr will blow between 16–19 November, which may lead to fallen trees and power cuts.
Cold Wave in Central and Eastern States
According to IMD:
A warning of lightning has been issued for Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, coastal Andhra, and Rayalaseema from 16–20 November.
Central India will experience increasing cold.
In Madhya Pradesh, a cold wave is expected on 17 November, with a severe cold wave on 18 and 19 November.
West Rajasthan, Central Maharashtra, and Vidarbha will also be affected by cold on 17 and 18 November.
East Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh will see cold wave conditions from 17–19 November.
In Jharkhand, temperatures may drop by 4–5°C on 17 November.
