Codeshare Flights between India and Canada Resume from December

Air India has announced that it will relaunch its codeshare partnership with Air Canada starting December 2, 2025.

This move will expand flight options between India and Canada and make travel more convenient for passengers.

The partnership allows Air India to offer flights to six Canadian cities beyond its main gateways in Vancouver and London (Heathrow).

These cities include Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montréal, and Halifax.

How the Codeshare Benefits Passengers

Under this agreement:

Air India will place its AI flight designator on Air Canada-operated flights to the above Canadian cities.

Air Canada will also place its designator on flights from London Heathrow to Vancouver and Calgary.

Passengers can now book single-ticket itineraries for travel on both airlines.

Travelers benefit from a unified baggage allowance, making connections smoother.

Frequent flyers can earn and redeem points on both airlines.

Air India’s Maharaja Club elite members continue to enjoy Star Alliance Gold benefits, including priority services, extra baggage allowance, and lounge access.

Expanding Connectivity Between India and Canada

Campbell Wilson, CEO of Air India, said the move helps over two million people traveling annually between India and Canada, including families, students, and business travelers.

The codeshare flights will gradually be available for booking through both airlines’ channels and travel agents once regulatory approvals are completed.

This partnership strengthens India-Canada connectivity and simplifies travel for passengers on both domestic and international routes.
