Civil Aviation Ministry seeks Report from Air India Express regarding Flight Cancellations

New Delhi:

Air India Express is facing difficulties, with approximately 90 flights canceled since Tuesday night. Many cabin crew members from Tata Group’s airline have taken leave, citing illness.

They had recently accused the airline management of discrimination and misbehavior.

This situation has prompted the Civil Aviation Ministry to request a detailed report on the matter, showing a serious concern about the issue.

Instructions to resolve the issues and provide facilities to the passengers

The Civil Aviation Ministry has urged the airline to quickly address these issues and ensure passenger facilities in line with DGCA rules.

The Air India Express spokesperson previously mentioned that many cabin crew members reported falling ill suddenly since last night.

As a result, numerous airline flights were delayed, and many had to be canceled.

We are investigating the reasons by contacting the cabin crew. Additionally, we are making efforts to minimize passenger inconvenience.

Full refund will be given and another flight will also be offered

The Air India Express spokesperson mentioned that affected customers will receive a full refund and have the option to book another flight for a different day.

We also advise customers to check the flight status before heading to the airport.

Appeal to Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to intervene in the matter

Congress and CPI Kerala have called for urgent assistance from the Central Government to address this issue. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia has been urged to raise the matter of Air India Express flight cancellations promptly.

The cancellation of flights may cause difficulties for many travelers heading to the Middle East.
