Citroen India has recently named MS Dhoni as its new brand ambassador.
Following this major announcement, the French automaker introduced a special ‘Dhoni Edition’ of the C3 Aircross in India.
Key Features of the C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition
The standout feature of this special edition is the new striped-design ‘7’ decals on its rear door panel and ‘Dhoni Edition’ graphics on the front door. Additionally, customers who book this special edition will get a chance to win exclusive merchandise in collaboration with MS Dhoni.
The Dhoni Edition also includes illuminated door sills, themed cushions, seat belt cushions, and a front dash camera.
No Change in the Powertrain
Mechanically, the C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition remains unchanged.
It is powered by the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine found in the regular model.
This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter unit.
The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine delivers an output of 109 bhp/190 Nm with the manual transmission and 109 bhp/205 Nm with the automatic transmission.
Competition in the Segment
The Citroen C3 Aircross is positioned in the mid-size SUV segment,
where it competes with models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyrider, and Mahindra Scorpio.
The Hyundai Creta is the best-seller in this segment, offering three powertrain options:
a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with an output of 115 PS / 144 Nm paired with a 6-speed MT or CVT,
a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine with an output of 160 PS / 253 Nm paired with a 7-speed DCT,
and a 1.5-liter diesel engine with an output of 116 PS / 250 Nm paired with a 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT.
