French carmaker Citroen has made headlines in India with the launch of its powerful new SUV – the Citroen Basalt.
The highlight of this car is CARA, India’s first intelligent in-car assistant. It acts like a smart companion who listens, understands, and helps you. The starting price of this impressive SUV is just ₹7.95 lakh.
CARA – Bringing a Human Touch to Smart Driving
CARA is the most exciting feature of this car. It’s the first voice assistant developed in India that not only understands your language but also your mood.
Understands 52 languages: CARA can speak and understand 52 Indian and international languages, and can even switch between them during a conversation.
Understands how you feel: If you say, “I’m tired,” CARA may suggest nearby rest stops or soothing music.
Monitors car health: It keeps track of things like tyre pressure, fuel levels, and more. You can ask it to turn on the AC or lock the doors.
Keeps you updated: Play music, manage calls, get cricket scores, or weather updates – CARA does it all.
Emergency help: If you’re in danger, just say the word – CARA can activate SOS mode and contact emergency services for you.
Basalt X: Premium Style and Features
Citroen has also launched a premium version, the Basalt X, priced from ₹12.89 lakh. It comes packed with luxury features for a high-end driving experience.
Premium Interiors: Soft-touch leather, gold trim, and ambient lighting give the cabin a luxury lounge feel.
Comfort Features: Includes TROPICOOL ventilated seats, automatic AC, and a 360-degree camera for all-round visibility.
Smart Tech: Keyless entry (Proxi-Sense PEPS), cruise control, and a big 26 cm touchscreen infotainment system.
Safety First: Over 40 safety features are included, such as 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), hill-hold assist, and tyre pressure monitoring – all as standard.
Design and Engine Power of the Basalt X
The Citroen Basalt combines the boldness of an SUV with the sleek design of a coupe, giving it a unique look on Indian roads. It offers a ground clearance of 180mm, perfect for rough or uneven roads.
Under the hood, it has a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that delivers 110 PS of power and 205 Nm of torque. According to the company, deliveries will begin during the festive season.
