SBI Card, a leading credit card provider in India, has announced changes to its reward program, which will take effect from March 31, 2025, and April 1, 2025.
These changes will impact the rewards customers earn on certain categories, especially online shopping and flight bookings, resulting in fewer reward points.
Those who frequently use these cards may need to explore new offers for better benefits.
Changes to Reward Points on SimplyCLICK SBI Card
Starting April 1, 2025, SimplyCLICK SBI cardholders will earn only 5X reward points on Swiggy purchases, reduced from the previous 10X.
However, the 10X reward points will still be available for other brands such as Apollo 24X7, BookMyShow, Cleartrip, Domino’s, IGP, Myntra, Netmeds, and Yatra.
Impact on Air India SBI Credit Cards
The reward points for Air India ticket bookings will see a significant reduction after March 31, 2025:
Air India SBI Platinum Credit Card: Customers will now earn only 5 reward points for every Rs 100 spent, down from 15 reward points.
Air India SBI Signature Credit Card: The reward points will drop to 10 reward points per Rs 100 spent, reduced from 30 reward points.
Changes to Club Vistara Cards
IDFC First Bank’s Club Vistara co-branded credit cards will also see changes. The milestone benefits associated with these cards will be completely discontinued after March 31, 2025.
However, customers can still earn Maharaja Points until March 31, 2026, after which the card will be fully discontinued.
Other benefits, such as Club Vistara Silver membership, premium economy tickets, and one-class upgrade vouchers, will also be removed.
Additionally, annual charge fees will be waived for one year upon card renewal after March 31, 2025.
These changes are likely to affect loyal customers who frequently utilize the rewards, especially in travel and online shopping categories.
