CCPA Orders Removal of Pakistan Flag from E-Commerce Sites

Tension has risen after the Pahalgam incident and the launch of Operation Sindoor, leaving Pakistan in a state of panic.

After weakening Pakistan militarily, efforts are now being made to hurt it economically. This is why the Boycott Pakistan campaign is gaining strong support across the country.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued a notice to Amazon, Flipkart, and other companies, instructing them to remove the Pakistani flag and products from their platforms.

Boycott Pakistan Campaign Gains Momentum

According to the CCPA, selling Pakistani products or displaying its flag on e-commerce websites violates Indian laws related to open trade. These items must be taken down immediately.

Consumer Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi shared this update on his social media platform ‘X’, saying that strict instructions have been given to remove such items.

Campaign Against Pakistan’s Ally Turkey Also Active

A similar campaign is underway against Turkey, which has shown support for Pakistan.

People in India are not only boycotting Turkish products but also avoiding travel to the country. They are urging others to skip Turkey as a tourist destination as well.

This call for a travel boycott comes at a time when Indian tourists were visiting Turkey in record numbers.

In 2009, about 55,000 Indians visited Turkey. This number rose to 2.3 lakh in 2019, and in 2024, it increased further to 3,30,985.

Praveen Khandelwal, MP from Chandni Chowk and General Secretary of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), says that this travel boycott could severely impact the economies of Turkey and Azerbaijan, especially their tourism sectors.
