Government telecom company BSNL has reduced the validity of its popular Rs 99 prepaid plan.
Earlier, this plan offered 28 days of service, which was later reduced to 17 days, and now it has been cut down to just 15 days.
Although the price of the plan remains the same, the reduction in validity means that the cost per day has increased.
In simple terms, the plan has become more expensive without a price hike.
What You Get in BSNL’s Rs 99 Plan
The Rs 99 plan is mainly for users who want to keep their BSNL SIM active or only want voice calling benefits. Here’s what the plan includes:
Unlimited voice calling to any network within India.
Now includes 50MB of data, which was not provided earlier.
This data is enough for basic tasks like checking messages or doing light internet browsing.
After 50MB is used, the speed drops to 40Kbps, which only supports text-based usage.
No SMS service is included, so it’s not ideal for users who send frequent text messages.
No OTT or extra services (like streaming or added value features) are part of this plan.
The validity is 15 days, so users will need to recharge more frequently.
