There’s some bad news for mobile users who were depending on BSNL to avoid costly recharge plans from private telecom companies.
BSNL, a government-run company, has now reduced the validity of two of its most popular recharge plans — the ₹1499 and ₹2399 plans. This move is expected to affect crores of users.
Earlier, many people were choosing BSNL because it offered long-term validity at a lower price, helping the company gain lakhs of new customers.
However, with the new change, the validity of both plans has been reduced, although the benefits offered in these plans remain the same.
New Validity Details of ₹1499 and ₹2399 Plans
According to reports, here’s how the validity of these plans has changed:
₹1499 Plan: Earlier provided 365 days of service, now reduced to 336 days.
₹2399 Plan: Earlier offered 425 days of service, now reduced to 395 days.
Plan Benefits Remain the Same
₹1499 Plan
Validity: 336 days
Unlimited calling on all local and STD networks
24GB total data for the entire period
100 free SMS per day
Best suited for users who use less data
₹2399 Plan
Validity: 395 days
Unlimited calling across all networks
2GB of data per day
100 free SMS per day
Ideal for users who need more daily data
Even with reduced validity, BSNL’s recharge plans are still more affordable compared to many private companies. These plans could still be a good choice for users looking to save on mobile expenses.
