BSNL has launched a special portal (https://selfcare.bsnl.co.in) where customers can apply for a new SIM card in a few simple steps. Here’s how you can do it:

Step 1: Visit the Portal
Go to the official BSNL website or directly to the self-care portal.
Step 2: Choose Connection Type
Click on the “New Connection” option and choose between prepaid and postpaid.
Step 3: Fill in KYC Details
Enter information like your Aadhaar number, name, and address.
Step 4: Upload Documents
Upload a scanned copy of your Aadhaar card and your photograph.
Step 5: Make Payment
Pay the required amount online using a debit card, credit card, or UPI.
Step 6: Schedule Delivery
Pick a date, time, and location for the SIM card to be delivered.
SIM Delivery Time and Charges
The SIM card will usually be delivered within 48 to 72 hours, although this may vary depending on your area.
The cost of a prepaid SIM ranges from ₹100 to ₹300, which may include the first recharge. For postpaid connections, charges like the security deposit and monthly rental will be extra.
Self-KYC and Security Process
The self-KYC is done using an Aadhaar-based e-KYC process that includes OTP verification.
At the time of delivery, a BSNL representative will verify your identity through a video call. BSNL uses end-to-end encryption to keep your data safe and ensure user privacy.
