Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a National Wi-Fi Roaming Service for its customers.
This new service will allow users with BSNL FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) connections to connect to BSNL’s Wi-Fi network across India.
Previously, FTTH customers could only use their high-speed internet at a fixed location (where the router was installed).
Now, they can enjoy internet access anywhere in the country, using BSNL’s broadband network.
How the National Wi-Fi Roaming Service Works
To use this service, customers must register on the BSNL Wi-Fi roaming portal (https://portal.bsnl.in/ftth/wifiroaming).
They will need to enter their FTTH connection number and the registered mobile number for verification.
This service is part of BSNL’s efforts to improve its image and presence in the country.
Even if customers are in rural areas, they can still access high-speed internet through BSNL’s Wi-Fi if available.
This is a significant advantage, as private telecom operators like Jio and Airtel do not offer similar services, focusing instead on mobile network usage outside customers’ homes.
Simple and Secure Service
BSNL has emphasized that this National Wi-Fi Roaming Service is secure and easy to use. This is the first such service from any pan-India FTTH service provider.
BSNL’s Bharat Fiber is the third-largest internet service provider (ISP) in India, following Jio and Airtel.
While BSNL continues to roll out 4G services, the Wi-Fi roaming service will not affect its mobile customers.
