BSNL, the country’s government telecom company, is rapidly improving its network. As part of this effort, BSNL has launched Internet TV Service (IFTV) for the first time in India.
This service operates using fiber optic cables, ensuring users get high-speed internet to enjoy entertainment programs on OTT platforms seamlessly.
Service Now Available in Punjab
Initially, BSNL started the Internet TV service in Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Recently, the company extended the service to Punjab as well, sharing this update through its social media platforms.
What is BSNL IFTV?
The Internet TV service allows BSNL customers to access over 500 HD and SD channels through the Skypro TV app.
Additionally, users can enjoy content from 20+ popular OTT platforms. A major advantage is that the service does not require a set-top box.
Collaboration with Skypro
BSNL launched this service on 28 November in partnership with Skypro. BSNL fiber users can watch popular entertainment channels like Colors, Star,
and Zee TV, along with sports channels like Star Sports. Importantly, this service works without the need for extra equipment or cables.
In Chandigarh, the service was initially introduced for 8,000 customers during the first phase.
Government Cracks Down on Chinese Products
While BSNL focuses on enhancing its network, the Government of India has taken strict action against substandard Chinese imports.
Poor-quality power banks from China have been targeted, with action already taken against two major companies, and investigations ongoing against a third.
These companies were importing cheap and low-quality batteries from China, leading to losses for customers. The government has decided to enforce strict bans to protect consumers.
