Insurance regulator IRDAI is preparing to launch Bima Vistar Yojana, an all-in-one insurance product, by December 2025.
The main aim of this scheme is to expand the reach of insurance in rural areas and create a strong social security network.
Bima Vistar combines life, health, personal accident, and property insurance under a single policy, making it a comprehensive and affordable solution.
This initiative also supports the vision of achieving “Insurance for All” by 2047.
Key Features of Bima Vistar
Every person will get an insurance cover of ₹5 lakh under this scheme.
The policy has been specially designed for rural India.
All insurance companies will sell it at a uniform premium rate, ensuring fairness and easy access.
It will help in increasing insurance penetration in rural parts of the country.
The announcement was made by the Life Insurance Council, which includes 26 life insurance companies, including the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
According to Kamlesh Rao, Chairman of the Insurance Awareness Committee (IAC-Live), this scheme will play a big role in strengthening the insurance network in villages and small towns.
