Bihar Government announces DA Hike for Employees

On Thursday, the Bihar government made an important announcement for its employees.

In a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, it was decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 3%.

This means that the DA, which was previously 50%, will now be 53%. The hike will be effective from July 1 this year.

Other Key Decisions in the Meeting

In addition to the DA hike, the Bihar Cabinet approved 38 proposals. One of the important decisions was the approval of the Bihar Social Media and Online Media Rules 2024.

The Cabinet also gave administrative approval for spending over Rs 120 crore to acquire 50.50 acres of land for tourism development around the Punauradham temple in Sitamarhi.

The government also focused on improving law and order in Patna.

They approved the creation of 153 new police posts, including three DSPs, three police inspectors, nine sub-inspectors, 18 assistant sub-inspectors, and 120 constables.

Other Approved Plans

Other proposals approved included the allocation of maintenance work for public toilets at major tourist places in Bihar to Sulabh International Social Service Organization.

The Revenue Land Reforms Department also decided to divide Patna Sadar Zone into four new zones: Patna Sadar Zone, Pataliputra Zone, Patna City Zone,

and Didarganj Zone. To support this, 60 new posts will be created across these zones.

Lastly, the Chief Minister Home Site Purchase Assistance Scheme 2024 was also approved in the meeting.
