Why Prices Dropped: GST Rate Revision Explained

The GST Council recently approved new tax rates that will come into effect from 22 September 2025:

Small cars (petrol engines under 1,200cc and diesel under 1,500cc, less than 4 meters in length) will now be taxed at 18% GST (down from 28%).

Luxury and larger cars will now fall under the 40% GST slab, replacing the earlier structure of 28% GST plus a 22% cess (total 50%).

Toyota has urged customers to act fast, as demand is expected to rise during the festive season.

Customers are advised to confirm the updated prices and available discounts at authorized dealerships.
