Bank of Baroda launches International UPI Service

Bank of Baroda has introduced International UPI services through its bob ePay app, allowing customers to send

and receive money abroad. The bank has added three new features — UPI Global Acceptance, Foreign Inward Remittance, and UPI Service for NRIs.

With this upgrade, both Indian and NRI customers can make cross-border payments and money transfers instantly, safely, and conveniently.

Bank’s Executive Director, Sanjay Mudaliar, said that UPI has transformed digital payments in India, and now, Bank of Baroda is taking it global with bob ePay International.

Key Features of the New International Services

UPI Global Acceptance

Customers can now pay international merchants by simply scanning a QR code through the bob ePay app while traveling abroad. Payments will be made directly from their Indian bank account.

This service is available in 8 countries: Mauritius, Singapore, UAE, USA, France, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan.

The transaction amount will be shown in both international and Indian currencies, along with exchange rate and charges for full transparency.

Foreign Inward Remittance (Singapore Only)

Customers in India can now receive 24×7 real-time transfers from Singapore. Senders in Singapore just need the recipient’s UPI ID/VPA.

Money sent in Singapore Dollars (SGD) will be credited directly in Indian Rupees (INR).
This feature is especially useful for family financial support.

UPI Services for NRIs

NRI customers can send and receive money via bob ePay by linking their NRE/NRO accounts to their Indian mobile number.

While in India, they can also make merchant payments and peer-to-peer transfers easily.

Transaction Limit and App Details

Transaction limit: ₹1 lakh per day and per transaction (same as domestic UPI).

App availability: The bob ePay app has over 13 lakh registered users and is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

International services can be activated directly from the app’s settings.
