New Delhi: Bank branches will be closed on certain days in September 2025 across different cities as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list. While physical branches will remain closed, online banking services will continue as usual.
If you plan to visit your bank branch for any important work next month, make sure to note the days when banks will be closed in your city or state.
Some bank holidays will be observed nationwide, while others are local holidays celebrated in specific states.
Many branches will be closed due to regional festivals or special occasions. Before visiting, check the list of important bank holiday dates in September.
In total, banks will be closed for 14 days in September—9 days as per the RBI holiday calendar and the remaining days being weekends or state-declared holidays.
However, keep in mind that banks will not be closed for all 14 days in every state or region.
These are the combined number of days when banks across various parts of the country will remain closed due to local holidays.
For example, banks in Rajasthan may close for Navratra Sthapna, but branches in Goa, Bihar, or other states will remain open on that day.

Bank holidays can vary between states and may not apply to all banking companies. Holidays depend on festivals and official notifications in different states.
Gazetted holidays will be observed across the entire country, meaning banks will close nationwide on those days.
Other holidays will be followed only in specific states according to their declared regional holidays.
