Just like every month, July has its fair share of days when banks will be closed.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently unveiled the list of national-level bank holidays for July 2023.
However, it’s worth noting that certain states observe additional bank closures during local festivals.
If you’re planning to visit the bank for any banking-related tasks, it’s crucial to verify whether they’re open or not.
After all, you wouldn’t want to be caught off guard by a bank holiday.

Bank Holidays in July 2023:
1) 2nd July 2023: All banks will be closed nationwide due to Sunday.
2) 8th July 2023: Banks will remain closed nationwide on account of the second Saturday of the month.
3) 9th July 2023: All banks will be closed nationwide due to Sunday.
4) 16th July 2023: All banks will be closed nationwide due to Sunday.
5) 22nd July 2023: Banks will remain closed nationwide as it is the fourth Saturday of the month.
6) 23rd July 2023: All banks will be closed nationwide due to Sunday.
7) 30th July 2023: All banks will be closed nationwide due to Sunday.
Apart from these, various states across the country will observe additional bank closures due to local festivals and special occasions. Here is a comprehensive list:
5th July 2023
Banks will be closed in Srinagar, Jammu on the occasion of Guru Hargobind Ji’s birth anniversary.
6th July 2023
Banks will be closed in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, for MHIP Day.
11th July 2023
Banks will be closed in Agartala for Ker Puja. 13th July 2023: Banks will be closed in Gangtok for Bhanu Jayanti.
17th July 2023
Banks will be closed in Shillong on U Tirot Sing Day.
21st July 2023
Banks will be closed in Gangtok for Drukpa Tse-Zi.
28th July 2023
Banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar for Ashura.
29th July 2023
Banks will be closed in major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and others, as well as in Ranchi, on the occasion of Muharram (Tazia).
Remember, even on bank holidays, you can still carry out transactions and other banking activities through online banking and ATMs.
So don’t worry, your financial tasks won’t be impacted by these holidays.
