The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) has officially started in Delhi. T
his is a central government scheme that provides free medical treatment to the poor and those in need.
With its implementation, Delhi becomes the 35th state/union territory to join the scheme.
Around 6.5 lakh families (approximately 36 lakh people) in Delhi will benefit from this program.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda shared that the scheme will operate in Delhi through a trust model.
Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also announced that the state government will contribute an extra ₹5 lakh in coverage, on top of the ₹5 lakh provided by the central government. This means eligible people in Delhi can now get free treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh.

Enter your mobile number and complete OTP verification.
Select your state as Delhi.
Check your eligibility using any of these methods:
By mobile number
By name
By ration card number
If you are eligible, your name will appear on the screen. You can also check the names of other family members in the ‘Family Members’ section.
Once verified, you can start getting free treatment under this scheme. It is especially helpful for the poor, senior citizens, and weaker sections of society.
The goal is to make sure everyone, regardless of their financial status, can access quality healthcare without worrying about costs.
