Axis Bank has launched a very convenient new feature for its customers. The bank has introduced Aadhaar-based face authentication, which allows customers to update their registered mobile numbers from the comfort of their homes without visiting the bank.
This means that if you have an account with Axis Bank and do not have time to visit a branch, you can now update your mobile number easily from home using Aadhaar.
A Major Relief for Customers
This new feature has come as a major relief for customers. With Aadhaar-based face authentication, users can update their registered mobile number in just a few minutes through a completely digital process.
Customers need to use a live facial scan linked to their Aadhaar record, after which their identity is verified. This feature is highly useful as it saves valuable time for both the bank and the customer.
How to Update Your Mobile Number from Home
First, open Axis Mobile or the Axis Bank Open app on your phone.
Enter the new mobile number that you want to register with your bank account.
Next, open the AadhaarFaceRD app from the Play Store.
After that, capture your live image using the phone’s front camera. This will complete the Aadhaar-based face authentication process.
An OTP (one-time password) will then be sent to your mobile number. Enter the OTP in the app to complete the verification process.
Once the authentication is successfully completed, your new mobile number will be updated.
Important Things to Know
The Aadhaar face authentication feature verifies the user’s identity by matching the live image with the photo available in the Aadhaar database.
After the mobile number is updated, the mobile banking transaction limit is reset for 24 hours.
The user will also be required to log in again after the update is completed
