ATF Price Cut: Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices have been reduced again, this time by 2.82%, due to a drop in global fuel prices.
This marks the third consecutive month of price cuts, offering potential relief to airlines by lowering one of their biggest expenses.
ATF Now Cheaper Across Metro Cities
In Delhi, the new ATF rate is now ₹83,072.55 per kilolitre, down by ₹2,414.25. This follows previous cuts of 4.4% in May and 6.15% in April. ATF rates have also been reduced in other major cities:
Mumbai: ₹77,602.73 per kilolitre
Chennai: ₹86,103.25 per kilolitre
Kolkata: ₹86,052.57 per kilolitre
Since aviation fuel makes up about 40% of airline operating costs, the continued decline in ATF prices may ease financial pressure on airlines.
Although this could lead to lower air fares, no official announcement has been made by any airline yet.
Commercial LPG Cylinder Gets Cheaper by ₹24
In addition to the ATF price cut, government oil companies have reduced the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹24. The new prices are:
Delhi: ₹1,723.50 per cylinder
Mumbai: ₹1,647.50 per cylinder
This is the third straight month of price relief, after previous reductions of ₹41 in April and ₹14.50 in May.
No Change in Domestic LPG Prices
The price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged. In Delhi, it is still ₹853 per cylinder, after a ₹50 increase in April. No new changes have been announced for household users.
Petrol and Diesel Prices Unchanged
Despite a drop in global crude oil prices in recent months, petrol and diesel prices in India remain steady:
Petrol in Delhi: ₹94.72 per litre
Diesel in Delhi: ₹87.62 per litre
These prices were last revised in March 2024, when they were cut by ₹2 per litre.
How Prices Are Set
ATF and LPG prices are revised on the first of every month by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL).
Rates are based on the average international prices and exchange rates from the previous month.
