Apple Reduces Cashback on iPhone 17 Series

Apple has delivered disappointing news for Indian customers. If you plan to buy a phone from the iPhone 17 series, you will no longer get the previous bank cashback offer.

According to a Moneycontrol report, Apple has sharply reduced the cashback from ₹6,000 to just ₹1,000, making the new models even more expensive for buyers in India.

This change comes at a time when the base model of the iPhone 17 is already hard to find.

Many variants are either out of stock or available in very limited quantities on e-commerce platforms and in offline stores due to a major global supply shortage.

New Cashback and EMI Changes Effective From November 22

The revised cashback structure will apply from November 22. The report also mentions that changes will be made to the zero-cost EMI plan.

According to Moneycontrol, Apple’s decision is directly connected to ongoing supply-chain problems, which have caused an imbalance between demand and supply worldwide, including in India.

Because of high festive demand in major markets like the US (due to Thanksgiving sales) and China (ahead of the Lunar New Year), Apple is expected to send more stock to these countries instead of India.

iPhone 17 Base Models Facing Shortages

During the Diwali season in India, there was excess supply. However, now the situation has changed.

The base iPhone 17—especially the 256GB and 512GB variants—is facing a severe shortage on Flipkart, Amazon, and even offline stores.

A person familiar with the situation told Moneycontrol that despite global shortages, India had received more units during Diwali.

But now, Apple is prioritizing other markets where festive seasons are starting. Supply is expected to improve by December.

Apple has not yet issued an official statement about the revised cashback offer.

However, the company’s website clearly states that “Apple reserves the right to change, modify, extend, or end these terms and conditions and the Instant Cashback Offer at any time without notice.”
