Apple, the American tech giant, may launch exciting new products on the 20th anniversary of the iPhone.
These could include the company’s first foldable iPhone. Over the past few years, the foldable smartphone market has grown quickly, and Samsung from South Korea currently leads this segment.
According to Bloomberg tech journalist Mark Gurman, who shared this update in the Power On newsletter, Apple is planning to unveil the foldable iPhone in 2027, marking 20 years since the first iPhone launched.
This phone may have a nearly invisible crease on the display—unlike most foldables today.
Apple might also launch a curved iPhone with no cutouts, and it could feature an under-display front camera and Face ID sensor for biometric authentication.
Gurman also mentioned that Apple could introduce its first smart glasses.
The company is developing a special chip for these glasses, which may work similarly to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses.
These glasses are likely to include Apple Intelligence (AI) features. In addition, Apple plans to release new models of AirPods and the Apple Watch.
Apple’s Rapid Growth in India
In India, Apple has seen strong growth in iPhone sales and other products in recent years. The company is preparing to expand its retail presence in the country.
New Apple stores may open soon at DLF Mall of India in Noida (Uttar Pradesh) and Kopa Mall in Pune (Maharashtra). Two more stores are also being planned.
Apple already operates stores in Delhi and Mumbai. A recent media report, quoting sources familiar with the plans, said that the third and fourth stores are confirmed for Noida and Pune, while two more locations are being explored in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
In the first year, Apple’s two existing Indian stores made a combined revenue of around ₹800 crore, with the Saket store in Delhi contributing 60% of that.
Apple has also increased iPhone manufacturing in India as part of its expansion.
