Apple may add up-to Rs 1680 Fee for New A.I Features on iPhone

Apple is set to launch its iPhone 16 series next month.

Along with this, the company is preparing to introduce new AI features for its iPhones later this year.

While users are excited about these upcoming features, there may be a surprise in store.

Reports suggest that Apple might charge $20 (around Rs 1680) per month for the AI-enabled features in iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia.

Possible Charges for AI Features

According to a CNBC report, an analyst mentioned that due to significant investments in AI technology, Apple might pass these costs on to users.

While the exact date for this charge has not been confirmed, it is likely that Apple will introduce fees for AI apps and features.

This move aligns with trends among Apple’s competitors, who are also charging for AI services.

For example, Google offers its AI One Plan for about Rs 2000 per month, which includes access to Gemini AI and other tools.

OpenAI provides advanced features in its premium chat GPT tier.

Thus, it wouldn’t be surprising if Apple follows suit and charges users for its AI features.

Focus on Privacy and Data Processing

Apple is emphasizing improved privacy and on-device data processing with its new AI features.

The company is also enhancing its data centers using M-series chipsets to better manage backend operations.

A recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicates that while Apple may introduce subscription-based AI features, there will be no additional charge for these features in the initial years.
