MacBook Neo has been launched as Apple’s most affordable laptop. It had been expected for a long time and is designed to compete with Windows laptops.
To keep the price low, Apple has used the same processor that powers the iPhone. The laptop will be available in four different colors. Here is a simple look at its features and price.
Design and Display
The MacBook Neo comes with a strong aluminum body and weighs about 1.2 kg, making it lightweight and easy to carry. It is available in four colors: Blush, Indigo, Silver, and Citrus.
It features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nits brightness, which makes the screen clear and bright. The display also has an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare.
Processor and Performance
The laptop is powered by the A18 Pro chipset, the same processor used in the iPhone 16 Pro. It includes a 5-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine.
Apple says this chipset delivers 50% faster performance compared to many laptops running on Intel Core Ultra 5 processors.
The MacBook Neo uses a fanless design, which means it runs silently. It also supports Apple Intelligence features.
The laptop runs on macOS Tahoe and comes with built-in apps such as Safari, Photos, Messages, and FaceTime. The base model includes 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Camera, Battery, and Features
The MacBook Neo has a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, dual microphones, and dual side speakers with support for Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos. It also includes Apple’s Magic Keyboard, a large multitouch trackpad, and Touch ID for secure login.
Apple claims the battery can last up to 16 hours on a single charge.
Price and Availability
Pre-orders for the MacBook Neo have started. Similar to the recently launched iPhone 17e, it will go on sale from March 11.
The starting price of the MacBook Neo in India is ₹69,900.
