Apple Inc. has launched the new iPhone 17e in India, expanding its flagship lineup with smarter features and more storage.

The biggest change? The new model now starts at 256GB storage, double the base storage of last year’s iPhone 16e.

Along with that, Apple has added a faster A19 chip, a new C1X 5G modem, and support for MagSafe charging.

The phone comes in Soft Pink, White, and Black.

Here’s a closer look at what’s new.

Smarter With Apple Intelligence

The iPhone 17e runs on iOS 26 and introduces a refreshed Liquid Glass interface.

But the real highlight is the new generation of Apple Intelligence tools.

Key features include:

Live Translation in Messages, FaceTime, and phone calls

Visual Intelligence that understands what’s on your screen

Call Screening for unknown numbers

Hold Assist to stay connected while you’re on hold

Message filtering for unknown senders

These features are designed to make everyday use easier, safer, and more productive.

Display, Performance and Camera Upgrades

The iPhone 17e features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with 1.5K resolution.

It offers 800 nits brightness (up to 1200 nits for HDR), ensuring clear outdoor visibility.

However, the refresh rate remains at 60Hz.

Under the hood, the A19 chip and new C1X modem promise up to twice the performance compared to the iPhone 11.

Camera Features

The phone comes with a 48MP Fusion rear camera that lets users shoot in either 48MP or 24MP for better file management.

Camera highlights include:

Night Mode

2x telephoto zoom

4K Dolby Vision video at 60fps

Spatial Audio recording

On the front, there’s a 12MP selfie camera with AI-powered improvements for sharper photos and better video calls.

Battery and Connectivity

The iPhone 17e weighs around 169g and measures 7.8mm in thickness.

Apple promises all-day battery life, thanks to the A19 chip, the C1X modem, and iOS 26 power optimization.

Connectivity options include:

5G and 4G LTE

Wi-Fi 6

Bluetooth 5.3

NFC

GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and NavIC

It also includes standard sensors like an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, and proximity sensor.

Price in India and Sale Date

The iPhone 17e will be available for pre-order starting March 4 at 7:45 PM.

Sales begin on March 11.

Pricing in India:

256GB variant: Rs 64,900

512GB variant: Rs 84,900

For comparison, the iPhone 16e launched at Rs 59,900 but offered only 128GB storage in the base model.

With double the starting storage, smarter AI tools, and upgraded performance, the iPhone 17e aims to deliver more value for users looking to upgrade.
