Nowadays, due to the fast-paced lifestyle of people, the demand for quick commerce—services that deliver goods within 10 minutes—has grown significantly.
To meet this rising demand, Amazon has launched a new service called Amazon Now to compete with major quick commerce platforms in India like Zepto, Instamart, Swiggy, and Blinkit.
This service has been rolled out in Delhi, the national capital. Before this, Amazon successfully tested a pilot version in Bengaluru last month.
Quick service competition will increase
With Amazon Now, items will now reach your home in just 10 minutes. Earlier, deliveries from Amazon usually took one or two days.
Now, with Amazon entering the quick delivery space, competition in this segment is expected to intensify even more.
In June, Amazon started its fast delivery service in Bengaluru. Now it has launched the service in West Delhi, with plans to expand it across the entire city.
Service to cover all of Delhi soon
In an interview with the Economic Times, Abhinav Singh, Amazon India’s Vice President (Operations), shared that the service is already running in large parts of Delhi and is expanding rapidly. Very soon, it will be available throughout the national capital.
It’s important to note that last month Amazon announced a $2 billion investment to strengthen its delivery services in India.
As part of this, the company is now focusing on setting up a large number of dark stores across the country.
These are mini-warehouses located within cities to help deliver orders faster and more efficiently.
