Amazon Ends Work from Home Policy (Check Reason)

E-commerce giant Amazon has introduced a new policy requiring its employees to return to the office.

Starting January 2, 2025, it will be mandatory for employees to work from the office at least five days a week.

This marks a shift from the current policy, which allows employees to work from home two days a week.

CEO’s Memo on the Change

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy informed employees about this change in a memo.

He explained that the decision was made to return to pre-COVID office practices.

According to Jassy, working together in the office has many benefits, including better learning opportunities

and enhanced team collaboration. He believes that being in the office strengthens Amazon’s work culture and fosters innovation.

Implementation Details

Under the new policy, all employees will be required to come to the office five days a week.

However, employees can still request to work from home under specific circumstances, though this option will not be available to senior team leaders.

The shift back to office work reflects a broader trend, as many companies are moving away from remote work options that became popular during the COVID-19 pandemic.
