Airtel Data Policy: Airtel Reveals Terms and Conditions for Unlimited 5G Data

Bharti Airtel has recently laid out the specifics of its 5G data usage policy in response to directives from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Both Airtel and Jio were instructed to provide clarity on their respective 5G unlimited service policies.

Key Conditions of Airtel’s 5G Unlimited Service:

Airtel’s 5G unlimited data service is positioned as a complimentary benefit for Airtel users. However, there are certain terms and conditions attached to this offering.

The service is explicitly designed for personal and non-commercial use, with a set limit of 300GB per month (30 days). Any usage beyond this threshold will be considered as commercial use.

Response to TRAI’s Directive:

The clarification from Airtel comes in the wake of Vodafone Idea’s complaint to TRAI, urging telecom companies to define the pricing of their 5G services.

In compliance with TRAI’s instructions, Airtel has officially updated its 5G policy to provide users with a clear understanding of the terms.

Official Statement from Airtel:

In an official statement, Airtel emphasized that “Unlimited 5G data is an introductory offer for Airtel users, allowing them to experience the power of 5G.”

This offer is applicable to users with 5G-enabled devices connected to the Airtel 5G Plus network, available under eligible prepaid plans.

Prepaid Plans Offering Unlimited 5G Data:

Airtel offers prepaid plans starting at Rs 239 that include unlimited 5G data.

According to the company, users enrolled in any prepaid plan above this threshold can claim unlimited 5G service and enjoy the benefits. Airtel initiated its 5G services in October 2022.

Jio’s Clarification on 5G Data Usage:

In alignment with Airtel, Jio has also issued a clarification regarding its 5G data usage policy, reflecting the industry’s commitment to transparency in 5G service offerings.
