The Agra Railway Division has revised the wages of licensed porters after a long time. The order has been issued by DRM Gagan Goyal.
The new rates will be applicable at Agra Cantt, Agra Fort, Mathura Junction, Idgah Junction, Achhnera, and Raja Ki Mandi railway stations.
Under the revised system, carrying luggage weighing up to 40 kg on the head will now cost ₹80 per trip. Passengers who face overcharging can lodge complaints with railway officials.
New Remuneration Charges for Luggage Handling
The updated fees for porters are as follows:
Carrying a head load up to 40 kg: ₹80 per trip
Using a two-wheeled trolley for loads up to 120 kg: ₹130 per trip
Using a four-wheeled trolley for loads between 120 kg and 160 kg: ₹150 per trip
Charges for Assisting Sick or Disabled Passengers
Special charges have also been fixed for helping sick or disabled passengers:
Carrying a sick or disabled passenger on a chair or stretcher by two licensed porters/helpers: ₹130
Carrying a sick or disabled passenger on a chair or stretcher by four licensed porters/helpers: ₹210
These revised rates aim to bring clarity and fairness for both passengers and porters at the listed railway stations.
