Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC has launched its first Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund, introducing a new investment option in the market.
The fund has been launched under the recently introduced Specialized Investment Funds (SIF) framework.
The New Fund Offer (NFO) for this scheme is open from March 6 to March 18, 2026.
This fund is designed for investors who want better returns than traditional mutual funds but do not want to invest in expensive investment options such as Portfolio Management Services (PMS).
It provides a middle path between these two investment choices.
Protection from Market Fluctuations
One of the main features of the Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund is its long-short investment strategy. Traditional mutual funds mainly focus on buying stocks
and earning profits when prices rise. However, this fund has the ability to both buy and sell stocks, allowing it to benefit even when the market falls.
The strategy creates a balanced mix of equity, debt, and derivatives. Because of this diversified approach, the fund aims to reduce risk during market volatility and generate stable returns across different market conditions.
Investment Opportunity for High-Value Investors
This fund mainly targets investors who can invest at least ₹10 lakh. It is designed to bridge the gap between traditional mutual funds
and high-value investment options such as Portfolio Management Services (PMS) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs).
According to the asset management company, the fund will not rely only on regular market trading.

In terms of taxation, long-term capital gains (LTCG) on investments held for more than 12 months in this fund will be taxed at 12.5%.
The fund is backed by strong promoters, including Aditya Birla Capital Limited and Sun Life (India) AMC Investments Inc., who are key shareholders of the company.
