If you haven’t updated your Aadhaar card information yet, here’s a golden opportunity.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is offering free Aadhaar updates through the myAadhaar portal.
You can update your Aadhaar online without paying any fee until 14 June 2025. With only about 12 days left, users are encouraged to take advantage of this offer before it ends.
UIDAI has extended this free update deadline several times in the past, and it’s possible it might happen again.
However, unless officially announced, 14 June 2025 remains the final date for free online Aadhaar updates.
What Information Can Be Updated for Free?
Under this offer, users can update their Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) online.
If updates are done after 14 June, users will have to visit a physical Aadhaar center and pay a fee of ₹50, which is the standard offline charge.
Why is UIDAI Urging Aadhaar Updates?
UIDAI has especially requested those people to update their Aadhaar details if their Aadhaar was made 10 years ago or more and has never been updated.
The aim is to keep records accurate, which helps avoid problems while accessing government services and schemes that require Aadhaar verification.
How to Update Aadhaar Online?
You can update your Aadhaar easily by following these steps:
Visit the myAadhaar portal
Log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number
Upload scanned copies of valid PoI and PoA documents

Why is Aadhaar Important?
Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identity number issued by the Government of India to residents.
It serves as proof of identity and address and is used for essential services like bank accounts, mobile SIM cards, and government schemes.
The UIDAI is responsible for issuing and managing Aadhaar. Its goal is to provide a secure digital identity to every citizen.
