The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has now made the process of linking Aadhaar with the Universal Account Number (UAN) easier than ever. It has also simplified the process for correcting personal details.
The goal of these new rules is to offer faster access to PF services, reduce paperwork, and ensure timely payments—especially for minor beneficiaries, where settlements can now be done without delays.
Linking Aadhaar with UAN is Now Easy
If your name, gender, and date of birth match in both Aadhaar and UAN records, you can directly contact your employer to link Aadhaar.
Employers can now complete the process easily through the KYC feature on the EPFO portal. There’s no need to get EPFO’s approval, which used to slow things down.
What If the Details Don’t Match?
If there are mismatches in Aadhaar and UAN details (like name, gender, or date of birth) or if a wrong Aadhaar number was linked, the Joint Declaration (JD) process has been simplified.
Now, employers can submit an online JD request to fix these errors.
If the employer is not available or the company is closed, the member can submit a verified
form at the PRO (Public Relations Officer) counter.
However, already verified Aadhaar details cannot be changed.
Benefits for Minor Children Made Simple
EPFO has also simplified the claim process for minor children of deceased PF members. Now, there’s no need for a guardianship certificate.
The PF amount will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of the children.
PRO officers have also been told to help open bank accounts for minors, making the process smooth and hassle-free.
How to Link Aadhaar with UAN Online?
You can link your Aadhaar with UAN easily using the UMANG mobile app by following these steps:
