Google Wallet was originally launched as a digital payment app, but it is now expanding beyond payments. Google is introducing a new feature that will allow users to track their online orders directly from the Google Wallet app.

With this update, users will no longer need to open separate delivery apps or websites to check the status of their parcels.

Instead, Google Wallet will automatically display order tracking information using delivery receipts received in Gmail.

Order Tracking Information Will Appear on the Home Screen

According to reports, if you have an upcoming delivery, Google Wallet will show the parcel details directly on its home screen.

Users will be able to check important information such as the package’s current location and delivery status with just one tap.

Once the parcel has been delivered, the tracking information will automatically disappear from the the home screen, keeping the app interface clean and organized.

Gmail Data Will Remain Unaffected

Google has clarified that this new package tracking feature will not affect users’ Gmail accounts. The feature will only access parcel receipt information required for tracking updates.

Apart from delivery-related emails, all other emails and personal data in Gmail will remain unchanged and unaffected.

No Need to Install Separate Delivery Apps

One of the biggest advantages of this feature is convenience. Users will no longer have to visit courier websites or install multiple delivery apps to track their packages.

Google Wallet will automatically detect supported order receipts in Gmail and provide real-time tracking updates directly within the app.

Indian Users May Have to Wait

At present, Google has launched this feature in the United States as part of a testing phase. Indian users may have to wait some time before the feature becomes available in the country.

According to Google, the feature currently supports email formats used by most major retailers. Support for smaller online stores is expected to be added gradually over time.
