There is good news for people who want to create or update their Aadhaar cards.

The Nainital Circle of the Postal Department has launched a new app that allows users to book Aadhaar appointments from the comfort of their homes.

With this facility, people no longer need to stand in long queues at Aadhaar centres just to get a token or appointment.

Book Aadhaar Slots Online in Minutes

The newly launched app allows users to register for a new Aadhaar card or update existing Aadhaar details online.

People can book their appointment slots through the web portal or by downloading the app from the Play Store.

Once a slot is booked, users can visit the Aadhaar centre at their scheduled time, making the entire process faster and more convenient.

The app has been named Advance Aadhaar Reservation Post Office.

Developed by Postal Department Officials

The app was launched by Senior Postmaster Amit Dutt during a press conference.

He informed that the application was developed by Postmasters IK Das and Shashi Shekhar.

According to officials, the main aim behind launching the app is to reduce the inconvenience faced by people who often have to wait in long lines at Aadhaar service centres.

Aadhaar Services Generating Strong Revenue

At present, 26 Aadhaar service centres are operating in the district.

Last year, around 75,000 Aadhaar cards were created or updated through the Postal Department, generating revenue of nearly Rs 50 lakh.

Officials also revealed that around 16 lakh Aadhaar-related services have been provided so far this year.

The department has set a revenue target of Rs 2.5 crore for the current financial year.

SMS Alerts for Cancelled Appointments

One of the useful features of the new system is its SMS notification service.

If an Aadhaar creation or update appointment gets cancelled for any reason, the user will receive an SMS alert.

This helps people avoid unnecessary visits to the Aadhaar centre.

With the launch of this app, residents can now secure Aadhaar appointment tokens from home, saving both time and effort while making the Aadhaar update process more convenient than ever.
