Indian Railways has announced a big relief for passengers ahead of the festive travel rush.
To manage rising demand and reduce overcrowding, 20 new trains will start operating from February 1, 2026, on major routes across India.
These new services are aimed at improving seat availability and making long-distance travel faster and more comfortable.
New Trains to Reduce Crowd and Travel Stress
The new services include Amrit Bharat Express, Vande Bharat Express, MEMU, and special passenger trains.
Railway officials say these trains will help reduce congestion on busy routes and increase the chances of getting confirmed tickets.
Ticket booking for these trains has already started on the IRCTC website and mobile app, allowing passengers to plan their journeys in advance.
Cities and Regions That Will Benefit Most
The routes have been planned to better connect north, south, east, and west India.
This move will help cut travel time on long routes and offer better connectivity between major cities and smaller towns.
The Railway Ministry has approved these services under Trains at a Glance 2026.
Special focus has been given to affordable and faster trains under the Amrit Bharat Mission, which is expected to benefit middle-class and general passengers the most.
