The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a special loan scheme for youth to encourage entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently highlighted this initiative on Uttar Pradesh Day, explaining that the scheme provides collateral-free, interest-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh, along with a 10% subsidy.
So far, 1.3 lakh young people have benefited, with ₹5,322 crore disbursed.
This initiative is called the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (MYUVA).
What is the MYUVA Scheme?
The scheme is designed to help educated youth start their own businesses instead of searching endlessly for jobs.
Loans are available for small projects in the industrial and service sectors, and applicants do not need to provide collateral.
Key highlights:
Loan amount: Up to ₹5 lakh
Interest: Zero
Subsidy: 10% of the loan amount
Repeat loans: If the first loan is repaid on time (within four years), a larger loan and additional subsidy may be granted
The government aims to create 1 million young entrepreneurs over the next 10 years, assisting 100,000 youth every year.
Benefits of the MYUVA Scheme
This scheme is especially valuable because unemployment among youth is high.
Key benefits include:
No interest, so EMIs only cover the principal amount
No collateral required, reducing financial burden
10% government subsidy
Future loans and subsidies for timely repayment
Priority for trained youth, such as those under skill development programs, Vishwakarma Yojana, or One District One Product
With this support, young entrepreneurs can start a shop, service center, small factory, or any other project, creating income for themselves and employment for others.
