As November comes to a close, several important deadlines are approaching for citizens, pensioners, and taxpayers.
Missing these could result in fines, service disruptions, or delayed benefits.
Here’s a simple guide to what you need to complete before November 30, 2025.
Last Chance to Opt for UPS
The Finance Ministry extended the deadline for central government employees to join the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) till November 30, 2025.
Under UPS:
Employees contribute 10% of their basic pay and dearness allowance.
The government contributes 18.5%.
This differs from the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), where employees received 50% of their last basic salary without any contribution.
Missing the deadline means you won’t be able to switch to UPS benefits.
Pensioners Must Submit Digital Life Certificate
Pensioners need to submit proof that they are alive to continue receiving their pensions.
This year, the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) or Jeevan Pramaan can be submitted until November 30, 2025.
Senior citizens aged 80+ could submit earlier from October 1, 2025.
DLC can be generated using the Jeevan Pramaan app on a mobile, PC, or tablet.
It is also available at Jeevan Pramaan centres, banks, CSCs, government offices, or via India Post Payments Bank doorstep service.
Submitting the DLC on time ensures uninterrupted pension payments.
Key Tax Deadlines
Several tax-related filings also need attention before November 30:
TDS challan-cum-statements for tax deducted in October 2025 under Sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M, and 194S.
Income Tax Returns (ITR) for Assessment Year 2025–26 for taxpayers required to submit a transfer-pricing report under Section 92E.
Form 3CEAA filings for all constituent entities of international groups for the 2024–25 accounting year.
Completing these filings on time avoids penalties and ensures compliance with tax regulations.
Summary:
November 30 is a crucial date for government employees, pensioners, and taxpayers.
From submitting UPS applications and Digital Life Certificates to completing tax filings, staying on top of these tasks will help you avoid fines and service delays.
