Now, children, elderly family members, and even staff can make payments using your UPI ID without depending on you for small expenses.
This has become possible because NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL) launched the UPI Circle Full Delegation feature on the BHIM Payments app on Tuesday (November 25th).
With this feature, primary users can authorize trusted contacts to make UPI payments of up to ₹15,000 per month on their behalf.
This is especially helpful for senior citizens who have their own bank accounts but hesitate to use digital payments.
It also benefits younger individuals who can manage their daily or educational expenses with secure, parent-controlled access.
Overall, it makes shared household finances simpler, more transparent, and more manageable.
How UPI Circle Works
According to TOI, “With UPI Circle Full Delegation, a primary user can authorize another user to initiate and complete UPI payments directly from the primary user’s account.”
The primary user can set a monthly spending limit up to ₹15,000 and choose an expiry period of up to 5 years.
This BHIM app feature simplifies day-to-day digital payments between family members, dependents, or small business staff. It also provides clear visibility of all transactions.
UPI Circle with Full Delegation improves financial empowerment by allowing trusted users to make secure payments without needing their own bank-linked UPI ID or bank account.
Lalitha Nataraj, MD & CEO of NBSL, said that this feature goes beyond real-time approvals and supports reliable, autonomous payments within set limits.
She added that it reflects the way Indian homes and businesses function—based on trust, flexibility, and accountability.
With such features, the BHIM Payments app aims to make digital transactions safer and easier for everyone.
