Indian Post launches 10% Discount for Students

To support students, the Indian Postal Department has introduced a new discount scheme called Student Mail.

This scheme is now active in all post offices across the country.

Under Student Mail, students will get a 10 percent discount on Speed Post postage charges.

The offer is only for retail customers and does not apply to bulk or BNPL users.

Who Can Use This Discount?

According to Pankaj Kumar Meena, Senior Superintendent of the Panipat Post Office, the sender must be a student.

The receiver must be a recognized educational institution such as a school, college, university, or a recruitment agency like UPSC, State PSC, or NTA.

At the time of booking, the student must show their original student ID card along with a clear photocopy.

These details will be verified before the discount is applied.

How to Use the Student Mail Service

Students must clearly write “Student Mail” on the front of their envelope or document.

At the booking counter, the postal assistant will check the ID and enter the student’s name and ID number into the system.

Once the “Student Mail” option is selected, the 10 percent discount will be automatically applied, but only on the postage charges.

This scheme aims to make it easier and more affordable for students to send applications, documents, and study materials for exams conducted by UPSC, State PSC, NTA, and other agencies.
