Yamaha India has made a strong entry into the Indian two-wheeler market with the launch of two new models — the Yamaha FZ-Rave and the Yamaha XSR 155.
These bikes cater to different types of riders.
The FZ-Rave is positioned in the commuter and street bike segment.
The XSR 155 belongs to the premium neo-retro category.
Along with these launches, Yamaha has also introduced its first electric scooter, though its details have not been shared yet.
Yamaha FZ-Rave: Stylish and Efficient
The Yamaha FZ-Rave expands the popular FZ series and is priced at ₹1,17,218 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Designed for young riders, it features a bold and modern look with a full-LED projector headlamp, integrated position lights, and a muscular fuel tank.
The bike comes in two color options — Matte Titan and Metallic Black.
Engine and Performance
The FZ-Rave is powered by a 149cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 12.4 PS at 7,250 rpm and 13.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
It offers smooth acceleration and excellent fuel efficiency. The engine is also E20 fuel compatible (supports 20% ethanol blend), making it more environmentally friendly.
Safety and Features
For safety, the bike includes single-channel ABS, hydraulic disc brakes, and a digital instrument cluster.
Its all-LED lighting setup enhances the premium feel. Yamaha’s FZ series has already sold over 2.75 million units in India, highlighting its strong reputation.
Yamaha XSR 155: Neo-Retro with Modern Tech
The Yamaha XSR 155 is designed for riders who value both performance and style. As part of Yamaha’s global XSR lineup, it combines classic looks with modern features.
It sports a round LED headlamp, teardrop fuel tank, and flat single-piece seat, giving it a distinctive neo-retro appeal.
It rivals the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, TVS Ronin, and Honda CB350RS.
Engine and Performance
The XSR 155 runs on a 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.1 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm at 8,500 rpm.
It features Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology for smoother power delivery across all speeds.
The bike uses a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch for easier gear shifts.
It comes equipped with dual-channel ABS, a traction control system, a 10-liter fuel tank, LED lighting,
and a fully digital instrument cluster. The ex-showroom price is ₹1.50 lakh.
